Adira Bennett (pen name of E.K.) is an independent artist and writer. Her work focuses on trauma, illness, recovery, and connections between people. She has been previously published by The Feminist Wire, NAILED Magazine, Maudlin House, plain china, The Mighty, and more, and she was the recipient of a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards national gold medal for her poetry collection Bittersweet English in 2013. Adira currently spends her days tending to her plants, doodling when she should probably be paying attention, and trying out new recipes in her tiny NYC kitchen.
