Adira Bennett (pen name of E.K.) is an independent artist and writer living in New York City. Her work focuses on trauma, illness, recovery, and connections between people. She has been previously published by The Feminist Wire, NAILED Magazine, Maudlin House, plain china, The Mighty, and more, and she was the recipient of a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards national gold medal for her poetry collection Bittersweet English in 2013. Adira spends her days attending college part-time, volunteering at the Women's Center for Gender Justice, and trying to remember where she left her keys.
